We started counting all the uses for this little dynamo, but we stopped at 967. We like it for delicate tasks and finer work because it isn't as powerful as its big brothers, so it's easier to control. It's light, extremely maneuverable, the switch is exactly where you want it and heck, it's just plain fun to use. It's perfect for jewelry, electronics, tiny woodworking crafts like dollhouse furniture and other intricate hobbies. It uses Dremel's wide array of bits, so there's virtually no limit to what you can do with this. Sure, there are store brands on the market for less, but Dremel is king when it comes to rotary tools, and we think they outdid themselves with this one.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

3 out of 5 stars Dremel 750-02 Minimite 13,000 RPM 2 Speed 4.8-Volt Cordless Rotary Tool   November 18, 2008
Purchased primarily to file dog's claws e.g. to shorten them so they don't become too long. Dog is long-haired and despite my efforts to trim hair in the vicinity of his paws, it seems as if I'd have to trim his legs an inch or more to avoid the hair becoming entangled in the rotating device. Neither he nor I enjoy that! Am hesitant about continuing to use it. About ready to revert back to the hand-operated claw trimer formerly used.

4 out of 5 stars I Can Finally Trim My Dog Nails   November 17, 2008
My 1 year old Cocker Spaniel hates to have his paws touched. It was impossible to cut his nails because you couldn't hold him still and his nails are dark so you can't see the quick. His first experience at a groomer was a bad one so I won't take him to anyone again. The vet barely touched his nails when I took him there. I heard of using this product and was afraid, but I tried it on myself first to see what he would be feeling and it was fine. Of course you still need to be careful not to trim too much and remain calm and sensitive to your dog, but it's not too powerful and works great.

5 out of 5 stars Fine tool for the dog and ?   November 14, 2008
I purchased this tool for the specific purpose of trimming my dog's nails. Well it works fine, I did his back feet one day and then the front feet the next day. He, my dog, seemed to not want any machine anywhere near him, but he got used to it quickly and seemed to calm down some then. He really doesn't like his front paws handled at all, but when I did them he was only moderately difficult. I believe after we have a couple more experiences with the tool, he will be pretty OK with it. He just has to become familiar with a new devise before he will be OK with it. He already seems to like getting an electric massage, so now it is simply a matter of him knowing that he is safe with this and he should be more accepting of it.
I will have other projects for the tool soon, but have only used it for the dogs nails so far. It is easy to use and has a nice charger unit. So, I recommend this tool as much as I can having only used it in a limited way. I know there are a number of other machines on the market for this purpose, but don't know anything about them, and liked this one.

5 out of 5 stars Dremel Tool   November 10, 2008
I purchased this tool to groom my two dogs toe nails. It works like a charm! The dogs have never really like the toe nail cutting process. The only thing that would keep their attention with clippers was the prospect of a treat at the end. With the Dremel tool they were patient and just layed there while I 'clipped' their toes. Now it is possible to smooth out the toes instead of leaving jagged edges.
The noise did not seem to bother them. The toenails do kinda smell when grinding but not too bad.
I am glad I bought this tool. I especially like the fact that it is cordless. Oh Yeah, they still get the treat!!

5 out of 5 stars awesome   November 9, 2008
i am a professional dog groomer and I think you will be pleased with this. It does a nice job. We use it 7-10 times a day and I have never had the battery go dead. Plug it in overnight and use it in the morning for a 12 hour day. It's great!
The other thing I like about it: if any hair gets caught it in it, it immediately stops spinning. I think that is because the RPM's aren't as high as dremels that you use for sanding wood, metal, etc.
It is perfect for pet use.
