4 out of 5 stars Really pleased with GPS!   January 8, 2009
Well I will start by saying that I have never owned another GPS but I did ALOT of research prior to my purchase. I bought my GPS when it was on sale and got a killer deal on it only problem I had (and the reason why I didnt give it 5 stars) was the SD card slot didnt work when I received it. I contacted Amazon and exsplained I just wanted to return for another one but it was no longer made so they couldn't replace it BUT would give me a complete refund(one of the countless reasons I would never shop anywhere else) I decided with the excellent deal I got from the purchase it would be foolish to return it and have to pay a hundred dollars more at least to replace it with another unit with the same features. I am very happy other than the SD card reader and have told everyone who ask what a great deal I got on it and everything I have bought from Amazon.com.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I Ordered   January 7, 2009
The Magellan Maestro 4250 does everything it says it will do, and does it well. I did a lot of research before buying this one, and I feel like it's comparable to the Garmins that are over $100 more expensive than this unit. I have read reviews that claim that the Garmin routing is a bit more intelligent in side by side comparisons. My suggestion, if you're going to use a GPS everyday to get you to places you've never been before, than spend a lot more, get a top-of-the-line Garmin. But if you're just looking for something to get you to your vacation destination, and you don't want to spend $400, than this GPS will certainly serve you well.

5 out of 5 stars Happy Magellan Customer   January 7, 2009
I own 4 Magellan GPS units. Each is a different model and I like them all. I especially like my Maestro 4250,It has all the features I could want and
I like telling it what to do and it does it.

4 out of 5 stars Very Nice   January 7, 2009
Works great! First thing I did was a firmware update. After that it has been invaluable for finding our way around and keeping peace in the car. I marked one star off because of the map data is out of date and you have to pay to get the current one. That update should be part of a new purchase. I would have no hesitation recommending this to a friend.

4 out of 5 stars GPS   January 7, 2009
Used the product shortly after purchase for a driving trip of about 1500 miles. It was very helpful and we had a safe round trip. There were a few times that it appeared on the screen that we were driving on nothing, because it was a new road that the old GPS software did not know about. It was well worth the savings of a refurbished unit to have a few new highway ramps not appear. Reduced the stress level of our trip, reading maps or trying to follow computer generated directions. The best part is if you get off course, the GPS helps you find your way back to your original route, or you have the option to make a new route.
