Product Description
This premium deluxe hooded robe is made of Black velvet and lined in Burgundy satin with a front clasp and the Gryffindor Crest on the front. This is an officially licensed Harry PotterTM costume. We bought this for our son as a Halloween costume, but allowed him to wear it a couple of times around the house for low-key activities like homework, thinking that couldn't do much harm. But after about three wears, the lining is coming badly detached from the cape at both underarms and in a visible spot at the neckline where the cape meets the hood. He wasn't doing anything very active like pretending to play Quidditch-- just sitting around in the costume. So, despite the price, this seems to be basically a single-use or minimal-use item rather than a costume for "dress-up"-- something to keep in mind if your kids like to use their Halloween costumes again after Halloween, which ours do. If your kids just want to wear it for Halloween, it's an attractive costume. If you're a Harry Potter purist dressing up for a convention or something like that, this won't be your cup of tea-- it's velveteen with satiny acetate lining rather than the woven suiting material they use in the movies. But for a Halloween costume, it's fine. Hope that helps.
